The need and the opportunities for sustainability: the case of local radio stations in Tanzania

In the research, Tanzanian local radio stations are analysed in terms of their economic viability – concluding that these radios have difficulties sustaining themselves. According to the research, a viable economic model in this context requires (1) good content; (2) developing the management capacities at media; and (3) suitable audience research.
