Big Data, Not Big Brother: New Data Protection Laws and the Implications for Independent Media Around the World

For a long time, collecting data on audiences to be able to deliver more relevant content and advertising has been normal business for many media. But, in recent years concern among citizens and policymakers has grown around these practices. This has resulted in the development of new regulations. This publication discusses the consequences of such regulations for independent media.
