This annual report is produced by the 14 members of the Council of Europe Platform to Promote the Protection of Journalism and Safety of Journalists, which includes Free Press Unlimited. The report draws on the alerts raised on the Platform and related evidence to highlight key areas of law, policy and practice where partner organisations consider that actions are urgently required. In 2020 a total of 201 media freedom alerts were published on the Forum, which is almost 40 percent more than in 2019.
