Media Capture in a Democracy: The Role of Wealth Concentration

The paper presents a model that shows that an increase in the degree of wealth concentration can undermine objective news coverage. A high level of wealth concentration can raise the probability of corrupt media, because it provides the media with a patron who has much to benefit from manipulating the electorate and is willing to pay much for this.
