This report provides a comparative analysis of 6 gender studies that Fojo conducted since 2016. The findings of this study cover the media landscapes of the countries and the feminization of the journalism profession. It shows that women now make up the majority of media professionals in all the countries covered by this study, mostly due to the fact that men leave the profession. The journalistic profession has become less attractive (to men) due to economic restraints (lower wages) and political pressures that make it harder to exercise independent journalism.
