The 50:50 Project inspires and supports content-makers to represent women and men equally. It is the BBC’s biggest ever collective action to increase women’s representation in its content.
The data in this report strongly indicates that cultural change is taking hold at the BBC, and that it is sustainable. Two-thirds of datasets reached 50% women contributors for the challenge month of March 2020. Of the teams who have been part of the initiative for at least two years, 78% reached 50% female representation in March 2020. Some 93% of those datasets reached above 45% female representation.
